We Can Re-Address the problem of food shortage, if All Cooperative Farmers Association is Empowered.

If the land is strategically located/cited,
If the soil is fertile enough to produce good food,
If the farmers can agreeably join together to cultivate a collective/singular farm,
If a cooperative Association can be set up indissolubly to educate and sensitize the farmers through the cooperative societies and,
If this umbrella coordinating Association can be recognized by the appropriate authorities and supported,
If there is an active field workers formed by the appropriate government ministries to oversee the Associations activities, and if such officials are neutral and sincere in their dealing with the Association,
If the executive arm of the government are able to package and present a durable defense to the governor on why such an Association should be assisted/encouraged,
If the legislative arm will be candid enough to make a flexible and effective law to aid the operation of the cooperative groups or to support these food producers And,
If the governor/government decide to make himself/themselves agricultural loving governor/government, and to do well to be there for these serious, minded farmers through the legitimately formed Association,
Our Society Will Never Lack Food.

ACFA: Question About Cooperative. No 10

Question 10: Why Do The Rochdale Pioneers Prefer To Open A Business Shop?
Answer: They preferred to open the shop because the members of the Society needed to raise money to start their store and they collected 2d or 3d a week from each member. With a loan from the Weavers Association, they were able to collect £28 and they were ready to start in business. Private shopkeepers were worried because they believe that if the working people are also setting up their own store, it will be difficult for them to acquire the required customer. This thought therefore made it very difficult for the Pioneers to find a shop. Eventually, Dr Dunlop, a local property owner, agreed to rent them the ground floor of 31 Toad Lane. The building had been a woollen warehouse and as part of the agreement, the Pioneers had to replace the large doors with a shop door and windows.

Why Is It Difficult For Edo Farmers To Become Numbers Cassava Producing State In Nigeria, By The Current Rating?

Farming is not just another great way to get rich as many people thought. There’s a higher calling in the farming division, a mix of money, enjoying life, fulfilling your dream, and a dose of altruism: “it’s obvious that the world has a serious food problem,” says Rogers in Steve Gandel’s exciting Time article. And “the only real way to solve it is to draw more people back to the farm” (agriculture).
But what possible problems are facing in striving to actualize our dream of making food sufficient for the citizenry?

Problems We Need To Eliminate To Succeed In Agricultural Production
1.      Government should not entice people into the farming business by giving money to wrong people who are not ready to farm
2.      Government should endeavor to recognize serious minded people, who really want to make the state/country first in agricultural business among her contemporaries.
3.      An organization should be cited to be used as a channel to reach sincere and genuine farmers. All incentive for the sector must be transmitted through this association.
4.      All Cooperative Farmers Association, Edo State. Has prove to be such organization that will judiciously and meticulously guard all farmers to effective utilization of any kind of support to be directed to the farmers.
5.      Anything contrary to this suggestion may either drag the state to the sludge in respect of good faming or take the state back to the failed position they are already maintaining in the world scene.

ACFA works reality, not formality. the farmers cooperative community set up by All Cooperative Farmers Association will becomes visible in the next few months. And agricultural produce from the state will become essential demand by many.
The cry by the Minister of Agriculture that Raw material (CASSAVA) is needed in order to achieve the aims of 20% in our bread will become a Reality
To this end, the Ovia North East Local Government Chairman who wished to display her interest in agricultural development, the person of Barr. Mrs. Lucy Omagbon has given a go ahead for the Bulldozing and Grading of a major farm road in Okokhuo Community.
for sincerity sake, the head of department, Agriculture and the local government engineer visited the cooperative farm cited in the community. on the 11th February, 2014.

ROLE OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

In the area of agriculture.
It has been certified as fact that the local government in a democratic setting is supposed to be known as the friend of those in the grass root. Which can otherwise be regarded as the nerve-centre of the socio-economic and political life of those in the local government area.
As an administrator in the grass root, the system must be effectively utilized fulcrum of local development and growth. In the process, the local government authority ought to focus in fostering or promoting public enlightenment among the people, with the aims of enabling the local populace to actively participate in decision making that will affect the wellbeing of the masses.
It is rather appalling to note that today; the people are not consulted to actually know whether the project proposed for them is what the need at that particular time. The local government authority of any local government area; should realize that they are the vehicle the superior power are using to transmit all kinds of information to those in the rural dwellers. Hence the active involvement and unseasoned support for the promotion of educational facilities and other benefit to the people should be their main concern.
The local government must realize that all programs design to promote the well being of the populace should be design in a way that the people who are beneficiary of the project, are full involved in the decision to decide the kind of project actually needed by the people at that time. In the field of agriculture, the role of the local government administration is to assist the people by organizing workshops or seminars to enlighten the farmers and also assisting them with financial assistance to enable them boast their produce. This can be done through partnership with co-operative Societies whose field is in the agricultural. The local government support for this sector of the rural economy will enable it to continue to provide employment opportunities and income for the bulk of rural dwellers. Besides, it will also enable it to provide the inputs needed for growing industries at the local level.
